Once your child has received their diagnosis; you can then approach the closest district of education to you. This could be the district that is closest to where you live, or to where you work, Below is a list of the districts with their physical addresses and contact numbers. Remember, that it is your child’s right to receive a basic education!
When you go to the district; please make sure you have the following documents:
Birth certificate of your childYour ID book or ID cardYour child’s road to health cardA letter from the doctor who made the diagnosis confirming your child’s diagnosisProof of residence Or proof of your company’s address – this will depend on which district you apply to.

Rache holds a BA Dramatic Arts Honours degree from Wits where she majored in Performance and Choreography. She subsequently performed on stage and TV as well as a creative career in television production. Rachel was officially inducted into Autism SA in 2023 as Deputy Chair and as a mother of an Autistic Teenager, she is devoted to raising awareness and acceptance of Autism. Mental health and well-being have always been a passion of hers. She is currently Director of Tambo-Web Media House which is a publishing and podcast company.
